Helping people rebuild — spiritually, personally, and financially.
Saved By Grace House exists so that adults in Jacksonville who are ready to change have somewhere stable to stand while they do the work. Not a program to complete. A foundation to build on.
The Mission, Plainly
A life doesn’t collapse in one place, so it can’t be rebuilt in one place.
When someone loses their footing, it rarely stays contained. Faith goes quiet. Relationships thin out. Work disappears. Money follows. By the time a person is looking for a room, three or four things are broken at once — and handing them a key fixes exactly one of them.
Spiritually
We believe a rebuilt life starts with a restored relationship with God. Residents are pointed toward Christ, plugged into a local church, and given room to grow at a real pace — not performed piety, but honest faith worked out in daily life.
What that looks like: a church home, time in Scripture, prayer that isn’t for show, and people who will disciple you rather than just supervise you.
Personally
Character is rebuilt in ordinary moments — getting up on time, finishing what you started, telling the truth when a lie would be easier, cleaning up a mess nobody saw you make.
What that looks like: a household rhythm, weekly accountability, chores that matter, and honest relationships with people who’ve walked the same road.
Financially
Freedom is expensive. A driver’s license, a deposit, a working car, a court obligation cleared — every one of those has a price tag, and every one of them is a door.
What that looks like: steady employment, a bank account, a budget, savings that grow every month, and a real number attached to the day you move out.
We don’t just want someone to have a bed.
We want them to have a plan.
A bed is a night. A plan is a direction. The difference between the two is the entire reason this house exists.
What We Believe
Grace comes first. Everything else follows it.
Nobody earns their way into Saved By Grace House by being impressive. Grace is the front door, and it’s free — the same way it was free for every one of us.
But grace isn’t the absence of expectation. It’s what makes expectation survivable. Because you are already accepted, you can be told the truth. Because you aren’t auditioning, you can afford to be honest about where you actually are.
So we hold both at once: unearned welcome and a real standard. That’s not a contradiction. It’s the whole gospel, applied to a house.
Our convictions
- Every person is worth more than the worst thing they’ve done
- Change is real, and it is slow, and it is worth waiting for
- Structure is a kindness, not a punishment
- Work restores dignity faster than sympathy does
- Nobody rebuilds alone — isolation is the relapse before the relapse
- Accountability without love is cruelty; love without accountability is neglect
- The goal is never dependence on this house. The goal is a life that stands on its own
